Harris Dunaway Jr.

Harris Richmond "Rick" Dunaway, Jr., 67, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at his residence. Born February 4, 1949, he was the son of the late Harris and Virginia Dunaway. Rick was a Virginia Tech Class of 1973 Alumni. He was a golf enthusiast, enjoyed sailing and was an avid sports fan (Go Hokies!). After working for 30 years, he retired from Philip Morris as a Research Scientist. He is survived by his loving fiancé, Brenda Simmons; and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. In leui of flowers, contributions may be made in Rick's memory to the Virginia Tech Foundation, University Gift Accounting Office, 902 Prices Fork Road, Mail Code 0336, Blacksburg, Virginia 24060.
