Haston Presnell, 91, of Colonial Heights passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Born on July, 29, 1933 in Burnsville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Lonnie Lee and Mae Bell Wiseman Presnell. Preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Elena Intrepido Presnell, and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Arnold Presnell, Vernon Presnell, Max Presnell; and sisters, Mildred Swalinski and Wilma Jean Webber.
Haston was a devoted member of Fort Lee Memorial Chapel parish for over 50 years. He retired as a MSG, U.S. Army, after 22 years. He was mainly stationed in Europe and retired as a decorated veteran having served two tours in Vietnam. He was the Richmond District Training Manager for VDOT and retired with over 34 years of dedicated service. He loved both jobs and had many stories to tell about his experiences. Even in his senior years, he always said he would return to either job, if ever needed. He enjoyed traveling, gardening with his wife, golfing with his friends, reading, and spending time with family.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Steve Presnell and wife, Janet; his daughter, Tammy Respass and husband, Chris; three grandchildren, Christopher Presnell and wife, Kylie; Ashley Fisher and husband, Jason; and Kyle Respass; four great-grandchildren, Greyson, Brooklynn, Grady, and Landon. Brothers: Lowell Presnell (Judy) and Howard Presnell (Jackie); Sister-in-law, Antonietta Tutt and many other family members and beloved friends.
"Pop" "Papoo" and "Papsicola" lived a beautiful full life and he loved his family dearly. Special thank you to his children for helping him live his final years in his home he so dearly loved. His love, compassion, and sense of humor will be so very missed.
