Hazel Elder

Hazel Ann Elder, 67, of Dinwiddie passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born February 24, 1946 to the late Jennings F. and Ola Mae Guthrie Lamm, and was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Perkinson. Mrs. Elder was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, James B. Elder Sr.; children, James B. Elder Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Ford, Robert Wayne Elder Sr. and wife, Jonan of Dewitt, and Michael Ray Elder Sr. and wife, Michelle of Dewitt; brothers, Jennings F. Lamm Jr. and wife, Margo of Dinwiddie, William E. Lamm and wife, Nancy of Dinwiddie; sisters, Lois Williams of Dinwiddie and Gladys Pierce and husband, Billy of Disputanta; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 22218 Dabney Mill Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Rodney Jenkins officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.
