Hazel Harper

Hazel Cooke Harper, 84, wife of the late Thomas E. Harper and a resident of Nassawadox, Virginia, formerly of Chester, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Heritage Hall Healthcare. A native of Halifax County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William P. Cooke and Bettie King Cooke. Mrs. Harper is survived by three children, Kathy Harper Kellam and her husband, Lloyd J., of Belle Haven, VA, B. Keith Harper and his wife, Jeanne, of Chester, Virginia, and Kimberly K. Harper of Belle Haven; three grandchildren, Sara R. Harper of Church Road, VA, Kathryn H. Kellam of Gainesville, FL, and Sylvie T. Leshen of Belle Haven. She was predeceased by a son, Christopher P. Harper. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 25, 2011, at the Chester United Methodist Church in Chester, Virginia, with the Rev. Dr. Margaret T. Kutz and the Rev. Keith Ritchie officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday February 24, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Colonial Heights E.
