Hazel S. Lipford, 88, of Prince George, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Colonial Heights Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late George and Ada Sheffield Stringfield, and the widow of Archer Robert Lipford. Mrs. Lipford was preceded in death by a grandchild, Tammy Cooke. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for over 54 years, a Sunday school teacher for 25 years and most recently a Greeter at Wal-Mart in Colonial Heights. She is survived by a son, Darrell K. Lipford of Prince George; daughter, Brenda C. Cooke of Prospect; two sisters, Etta Branzelle of Colonial Heights, and Ruth Brown of Chesterfield; four grandchildren, James Cooke Jr., Jennifer Harman, Darrell L. Lipford Jr. and Robert Lipford; four great-grandchildren, Brittany and Holly Harman, Laci Lipford, and James I Cooke III; two step great-grandchildren, Janet and Carter Rose. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Robert Livesay officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
