Helen Davis

Helen Blankenship Davis, 90, widow of Charles F. "Forty" Davis passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Wesley Randolph and Ruth Dozier Blankenship, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Thomas Blankenship and A. Randolph Blankenship. Mrs. Davis was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Russo and husband, Tony of Petersburg; a granddaughter, Amy Poole Dirr of Chester; two great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Matthew Dirr. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Avenue, Colonial Heights with the Reverend Tom Lovorn and the Reverend Robert Livesay officiating. Interment Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
