Helen Dawson

Helen Sadler Dawson, 91, of Petersburg, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late James H. and Elizabeth Vaughan Sadler, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Dawson. Mrs. Dawson was a member of Crosslight Assembly of God Church, and a retired Machine Operator with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company with 37 years of service. She is survived by a niece, Ellen Hipps and husband, Arthur Larry Hipps of Hopewell; a nephew, J.R. "Bob" Stanley of Venice, Florida; and many other nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in the Crosslight Assembly of God Church, 27 Seyler Drive, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Mike Buckley officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 1228 South West Street Petersburg, Virginia 23803.
