Helen Bradley Hardy, 92, of Colonial Heights, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Dunlop House. She was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Sue Sadler Bradley. She was the widow of Herbert L. Hardy and was preceded in death by her sister, Katie B. Gill. Mrs. Hardy was a member of Highland United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 284. She is survived by her daughter, Louise Tipton Frenier of Colonial Heights; son, James Donald Hardy and wife, Sue of Chesterfield; four grandchildren, Donna Frenier Goulder and husband, Al, Kenneth B. Frenier and wife, Harriet; Kevin Hardy and wife, Alaina, and Kellie H. Brekke; two step grandchildren, Wendy and Dylan March,; eleven great -grandchildren, Jennifer Donovan and husband Ben , Jason Sponsler and wife Libby, Dale Dereski, Justin Frenier, Jonathan Sponsler, and Julianne Sponsler; Dillon Brekke, Nicholas Brekke, Ethan Brekke, Aiden Hardy, and Kacie Hawkins; two step great grandchildren, Jacob and Daniel March; and seven great-great- grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Anderson of Colonial Heights; and brother-in-law, William Hardy of Ohio; several nieces and nephews including a devoted nephew, David Gill and wife Judy. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Highland United Methodist Church, 125 East Westover Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with the Reverend Keith Ritchie officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday August 3, 2011 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Box 3401, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Helen delighted in being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed nothing better than spending time with her family. Over many years she was a devoted caregiver to her father, husband and aunts. She touched many lives and will be missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
