Helen Jones

Helen Bowman Jones, 92, of Colonial Heights, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Helen was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. After World War II, Mrs. Jones was a participating member of The American Red Cross Gray Ladies Service in her community. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Jones Jr. and a daughter, Page J. Traylor. She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Hawkins and husband Charles of Dinwiddie; a son, Robert Jones and wife, Ruth of Newport News; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 15, 2011 in Southlawn Memorial Park in Prince George County with the Reverend Guy W. Murdock officiating. The family will receive friends at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Friday, January 14, 2011 from 7-8:30 pm.
