Helen Kanipes

Helen Jean Kanipes, 95, of Colonial Heights, died April 19, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Sabo Grund. Mrs. Kanipes was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and the former proprietor of Adler's Grill in Petersburg. She is survived by her son, John W. Kanipes and wife, Sandra of Colonial Heights; a grandson, John R. Kanipes of Petersburg; a sister, Margaret Kausch and husband, Winfred of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with Father Steve Antes, Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010 (tonight) at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
