Helen Simmons Kelso, 71, of Sussex passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at her residence. Born in Sussex, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell C. Simmons Sr. and Mary Washington Simmons. Mrs. Kelso was a member of Reidsville Baptist Church and a retired Switch Board Operator with the Sussex Sheriff's Department. She is survived by her husband, John W. Domitrovits; a daughter, Jemma Cox and husband, Wyatt of Sussex; a son, Christopher Kelso and wife, Laura of Missouri; two grandchildren, Cole and Claire Kelso of Missouri; two brothers, Mitchell C. Simmons Jr. and wife, Willene of Prince George and William A. Simmons and wife, Maxine of Dinwiddie; a sister, Frances S. Scarbrough and husband, Lee of Colonial Heights; two step-daughters, Michele Cowling and husband, CT of Williamsburg and Gina Domitrovits of Colonial Heights; two nieces, Michele Harris and husband, Johnny of Disputanta and Denise Aleksa and husband, Jeff of Williamsburg; two nephews, Lonnie D. Scott Jr. and wife, Ruth and Brandon C. Scott all of North Carolina; two great-nieces (that she loved and adored) Madison Scott of Prince George and Annabelle Scott of North Carolina. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Reidsville Baptist Church, 20158 Princeton Road, Stony Creek, Virginia 23882 with the Reverend Wilson Conwell officiating.
