Helen Wilson Leonard, 89, of Dinwiddie County, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Born in Alexandria, Virginia, on May 17, 1933, she was the daughter to the late Rennie Harrison and Gertrude Birdsall Wilson. Her husband Garnett Wade Leonard preceded her in death, as did her sister, Anne Stover, and her brother, Charles Wilson.

Helen was employed at United Virginia Bank as a bank teller. She was an avid gardener who loved to tend to her flowers, and she was also a lover of all animals.

She is survived by her loving sons, Michael Glenn Leonard and wife, Diane Fitzgerald Leonard of Glen Allen, VA, and David Wilson Leonard, Sr. and wife, Cindy Jean Leonard of Carson, VA; grandchildren, Nicole Leonard Stull, David Wilson Leonard, Jr., Emily Jean Marsh, Chad Western, and Kasie Sanders; great-grandchildren, Noah and Adah Stull, and Grayson Bryant Marsh.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the mausoleum of Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road S. Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A. of Petersburg & Colonial Heights, 104 Pickwick Avenue Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
