Helen Short

Helen Gordon Short 96, of Colonial Heights, passed away Tuesday March 20, 2012at the Colonial Heights Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Clifford Earl Short Sr., and Willie Lee Slaughter and was preceded in death by a brother William F. Short. Ms. Short retired from the accounting office at the Chesterfield County School Board after many years. She is survived by her brother Clifford E. "C.E" Short Jr., and wife Doris of Colonial Heights, sister Martha Hitchcock of Stony Creek, a sister in-law Margaret P. Short of Columbia, South Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Colonial Heights Health Care Center and the Odyssey Hospice for the compassionate care of Helen. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 27, 2012 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia, with the Reverend Daniel E. Hale officiating.
