Helen Taylor

Helen P. Taylor, 89, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Sallie Hoffman Pope. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Taylor, a sister, Gladys E. Podolsky and brother-in-law, Stephen W. Podolsky. Mrs. Taylor was retired from Titmus Optical. She is survived by four special friends, Peggy & Michael Courtright of Colonial Heights and Rose & Donald Wiggins of Williamsburg; also her friend and Sunday school teacher, Ronnie Dunford, and all of her church family at Second Baptist Church, Petersburg. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with Brother Ronnie Dunford officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S.
