Helen Ruth Turner

Helen Ruth Turner, 80, of Colonial Heights passed away on April 21, 2025. Born July 26, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Helen Irene Vick, and was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry O. Turner, Sr.; and brother, Linwood Jarrett.

Mrs. Turner was the bookkeeper for Turner & Son Lawn Service for 42 years.

She is survived by her son, Harry O. Turner, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Dinwiddie, who selflessly took care of his mother when she needed help the most; daughters, Dawn Marie Turner and fiancé, Max Pierce of Chesterfield, Vera Mitchell and husband, Levi of Petersburg; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Stella Delbridge of Colonial Heights; and other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA with Mark Houser officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Crater Community Hospice and Heritage Hall of Blackstone for the extraordinary care they provided to Mrs. Turner in her time of need. A very special thank you to Mrs. Betty Bonds for the years of friendship and visits.
