Henry Dotson

SSG Henry E. Dotson (Ret. US Army) 87, of Colonial Heights, died Sunday August 2, 2009 at his residence. He was the son of the late Henry C. and Sarah E. Chapman Dotson and was preceded in death by two sisters Betty Slone, Evelyn "Lossie" Dotson; brother, George W. Dotson. Henry was a W.W. II, Vietnam, and Korean Conflict veteran. He was a member of Cameron Avenue Church of Christ, and a Life member of DAV Chapter 4 in Petersburg. He is survived by his wife, Tae K. Dotson; daughters, Patty Dotson Daly of Chester, Debra A. Wert and husband Jerry R., of Bellefonte PA., Tae Dotson Andrews and husband Donald H. Jr., of Colonial Heights, S. Kim Taylor and husband Rick L. of Sandston, Barbara Uzzle and husband Scott of Chester; grandchildren Thomas E. Daly III., Joshua T. Parcell, Travis A. Riggins, Weston L. Taylor, Donald H. Andrews III., J.R. Wert II., Nathaniel W. Wert, Emily B. Uzzle, Amanda K. Taylor, T.J. Uzzle; one great granddaughter, Emily D. Daly; sisters, Anna June Zettler and husband Bob of McDowell, Va., Joyce Gay Ellis of Loudon, TN.; brother in-law, Chun P. Yi and wife Kwang of Colonial Heights, numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will take place 11:30 a.m. Tuesday August 4, 2009 in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia, with Pastor Mark Dailey officiating. A funeral procession will leave the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 2033 Boulevard at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am., at the funeral home.
