Henry . Ii

August 1, 1939 — September 19, 2012

Bellamy, Henry "Hank" Wolfe II, born on August 1, 1939, went to his eternal place of peace on September 19, 2012. Though cancer has taken him away, his memory and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be missed by the love of his life, Mary Anne Bellamy, who was by his side for 52 years, and his three children, Henry "Chip" W. Bellamy III, Janet D. Sheffield, and Sharon A. Turnbull. His grandchildren, Amber Brooks, Eugene Sober III, Derek Edmonds, Sarah Gwaltney, Megan Bellamy, Mary Sober, Frankie Sheffield III, Tim Gwaltney, and seven great-grandchildren are left with the memory of "Papaw", who loved, guided, and taught them to live righteously, generously, and logically. His sister, Ruth Waterman resides in Kingsport, Tennessee, where he spent his childhood and where they have all known him by the nickname "June." His many other relatives, nieces and nephews, will all carry his character with them. Hank's family was his life, and he spent his days providing and caring for them all. Hank was a dedicated soldier. He served the U.S. Army for 22 years, including tours in Korea, Vietnam, and several other overseas destinations. He was an exemplary teacher, who taught auto mechanics at Hopewell High School for 13 years following his tenure in the military. He has friends across the country who will miss him dearly. There was always a gleam in his eye and a song in his heart, and without him here, the world seems noticeably dimmer. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 25, 2012 in the Petersburg Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 3935 S. Crater Road Petersburg, Virginia with the Reverend Michael Moore officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday September 24, 2012 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be sent to Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida.
