Henry Leon Riggs, 99, of Dinwiddie, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011. He was the widower of Leola W. Riggs, and the son of the late Jesse and Mable Civils Riggs. Mr. Riggs was a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was the owner and operator of Bonneville Motors in Petersburg, for over twenty-five years. He is survived by five children; Gene Riggs of Colonial Heights, Charles H. Riggs of Virginia Beach, Darlene R. Hutcheson of Dinwiddie and Carolyn R. Daniel of Prince George, and Marilyn R. Lewis of Petersburg; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Frances H. Riggs of Colonial Heights. A Memorial Service will take place 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Western Heights Baptist Church, 24416 Cox Road, Petersburg, Va. 23803 with the Reverend Jonathan Dundalow officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Western Heights Baptist Church.
