Herbert Brooks

Herbert Calvin Brooks, 89, of Hopewell, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at the Hopewell Health Care Center. He was the widower of Susie Martin Brooks, and the son of the late Robert and Etta Procise Brooks. Mr. Brooks was a WW II U.S. Army Veteran, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hopewell Ward, where he served two full time missions for the church in Arizona. Mr. Brooks was a former volunteer at John Randolph Medical Center. He is survived by a daughter, Donna Tucker and husband, Beau of Prince George; two sons, Don (Buddy) Brooks of Richmond, and Rodney Brooks and wife, Sherrie of Coates, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hopewell Ward, 4181 Prince George Dr., Prince George, Virginia 23875. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
