Horace Butler Sr.

Horace L. (Esky) Butler Sr., 82, of Chester, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his residence. Born in Chesterfield County, he was the son of the late James L. and Maria Martin Butler. Mr. Butler was a retired Salesman for the Sara Lee Corporation. He is survived by his wife, Florence A. Butler; three sons, Horace L. Butler Jr., Ricky L. Butler, and Jeffery J. Butler Sr.; a daughter, Aletha B. Oakley; two brothers; two sisters; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Belmont Ward, 3541 Cogbill Road, Richmond, Virginia 23234 with Bishop Dan Law officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
