Howard Allen

Howard "Buddy" Allen, 69, of Dinwiddie, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012. He was the son of the late Floyd and Edith Reynolds Allen. Mr. Allen was a United States Air Force Veteran, a former City of Petersburg Firefighter, and also a retired driver with Parker Oil. He was a member of American Legion Post #141, and the Reformation Lutheran Church in Milford, Delaware. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Meckley Allen; two sons, Kent Allen and wife, Stephanie, Corbett Allen and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Alicia Allen, Kali Kehler, Matthew Allen, Taylor Allen, and Becca Allen; one great grandson, Caden Briggs Allen; two sisters, Margaret Hurd and Charlotte Millman; one brother, F. James Allen all of Delaware and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
