Howard Louis Mills Sr.

Howard Louis Mills, Sr., 78, of Chesterfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at his residence.  Howard was a man of strong faith, making sure to read his bible daily.   He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in combat in Vietnam. His hobbies consisted of reading the Richmond Times Dispatch every day, doing crossword puzzles, and was an avid fan of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, which he watched every evening. Howard was also an avid history buff. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Roy and Annie Mae Seay Mills; his brothers, Billy, Pete, Ashby and Tony; and his sisters, Shirley, Bertha and Dorothy. Howard is survived by his son, Howard Louis Mills, Jr.; daughter in-law, Tamela Townsend; and brother, Joe Mills. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, VA 23002. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes.
