Hoyt Fulton James, Jr., 62, of Colonial Heights, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his residence. He was born November 4, 1954 in South Carolina. Hoyt was preceded in death by his father, Hoyt Fulton James, Sr., and a brother, Marty James. He was faithful in serving the Lord in missions, the Awana Program, and the nursery. He spent his time fishing, weightlifting, and listening to Elvis music. Hoyt was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed dearly by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Juanita James; his daughters, Stephanie James, Wendy Fields and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Tiffany and Hunter Perryman, Angela and Andrew Fields; his mother, Geneva T. James; sisters, Sheri James Spencer and husband, Wilson Spencer, Julie Boyce, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Raleigh Nunnally, Jr. officiating.
