Ianthy Ferguson, 74, of Chesterfield, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Johnston-Willis Medical Center. Born in Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Martha Pearl Williamson Stanford, and was preceded in death by a brother, James Milton Stanford. Ianthy was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church in Chesterfield, a charter member of Phillips Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, a former Treasurer of Phillips Volunteer Fire Department Inc., and a former YMCA Indian Princess Chief known as "Big Flame." She is survived by her husband, of 55 ½ years, Cliff Ferguson; her son, Mike Ferguson and wife, Jacqueline of S. Chesterfield; her daughter, Tammy Faulkner and husband, J.A. of Mathews County; a grandson, Michael Brandon; and a brother, Philip Preston Stanford. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Oaklawn Baptist Church, 7925 Hickory Road, S. Chesterfield, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Wayne Williams officiating.
