Ida McCann Costello, age 95, a resident of Colonial Heights for 46 years and most recently Henrico, VA, passed away April 1, 2018. Daughter of Arthur Lee McCann and Alice Carter McCann Emory, and widow of James F. Costello. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers: Herbert, Arthur Lee Junior, Stanley Lawrence, Monroe McCann, and one sister, Grace McCann Gray. Mrs. Costello was employed at Fort Lee for 32 years and retired. She was a devoted member of St. Michael's Church, Colonial Heights, VA, active member of NARFE, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, AARP, and the Red Hats Society. Mrs. Costello is survived by three sons, Michael and wife, Aniela of Buda, TX, Mark of Albany, GA, and Matthew of Richmond, VA; three grandsons, Gabriel Costello of Buda, TX, Nicholas and wife, Molly, and Ariah Rastegar and wife, Kellie of Austin, TX; three great-grandchildren, Melody Costello, Kingston and Victoria Rastegar; one sister-in-law, Mrs. June McCann of Bellevue, NB; and an abundance of nieces and nephews. "O Merciful Lord… let the angels of Thy Loving-kindness descend successively upon her and shelter her beneath Thy blessed Tree. Thou art, verily, the Ever Forgiving, the Most Generous, All-Bountiful." A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at St. Michaels Episcopal Church, 501 Old Town Drive, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday night, April 4, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
