Iladel Payne

Iladel E. Payne, 88, of Petersburg, passed away, Friday, February 16, 2018 at the VCU Medical Center. She was born February 6, 1930 to the late Samuel Melvin and Esther L Moughmer Clinkingbeard and was preceded in death by a son Daniel Louis Payne, sister, Leona Clinkingbeard, two brothers, Oscar and Oran Clinkinbeard. Mrs. Payne was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Petersburg and retired as the Circulation Manager for the Progress Index. She is survived by her husband, CW2 James L. Payne Retired; one son, Alan D. Payne of S. Chesterfield; two grandchildren, Melissa Suyes and husband, Brian, Kevin Payne and wife, Janice; four great-grandchildren, London Suyes, Nolan Suyes, James M. Payne, and Kendal Payne; and one niece, Nola Buablit. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 with Reverend Joe Carson officiating in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park Enon, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
