Irene Piotrowski Walker, 90, of Dinwiddie, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Dinwiddie Health Care Center. She was born September 23, 1923 to the late Frank and Bertha Rycz Piotrowski, and was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James C. Walker. Irene was a United States Navy Veteran, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Petersburg. She is survived by two sons, James C. Walker Jr. wife, Dr. Donna Toliver of Sutherland and Martin W. Walker and wife, Michelle of Gloucester; three daughters, Gloria C. Smith and husband, Carl of Ripplemeade, Virginia, Joan W. Lang and fiancé, Tommy Owen of Dinwiddie, and Linda L. Ford and husband, Gordon of Dinwiddie; a brother, Frank Piotrowski of Dinwiddie; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a devoted caregiver, Lucy. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 151 W. Washington Street, Petersburg, Virginia 23803. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
