Irene Marie Inman Woolf was born on July 23, 1942, in Sandpoint, Idaho. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband, Sam, and family members on June 16, 2023, from congestive heart failure.
Irene was such a gentle, loving, and caring soul to everyone she met. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, putting puzzles together and experiencing new adventures. She cherished her fur babies Panda 1, KC, Shu-Shu, and Lucy Liu who are with her now. Her last Shih Tzu she named Panda 2 is with Sam today. Her passion in helping others always left a positive impact in the hearts of many people. Irene was always so grateful and if you did anything for her, she always responded with, “Thank you”. Her devotion for all was genuine and was loved unconditionally by her family and friends.
After graduating from Spring Lake Park (SLP) High School, MN in 1960, Irene was hired as a Secretary for the SPL School District and worked there for 13 years. Because of her brother David’s influence as an MP in the U.S. Army, she decided to join the U.S. Army Women Corps (WAC) in 1974 where she served her first tour in the 367th Maintenance Bn, Seoul Korea. After her honorable discharge in 1976, she joined the government civil service ranks where she served faithfully for 30 years. During her civil service career, she would meet the man of her dreams, Samuel Woolf and married him in 1997. She retired as a secretary in 2007 from the Training Directorate, CASCOM at Fort Gregg-Adams (Ft Lee), VA. After her retirement, Irene and Sam enjoyed traveling whether it was on a cruise, air travel or climbing into an RV to see places throughout the continent of the U.S., Hawaii, and the Caribbean.
She is predeceased by her parents Frederick George Inman and Kathleen Marie Sacht Inman.
She is survived by her husband, Sam Woolf; sons, Chris (Mindy) and Thomas (Hannah) Woolf; daughter, Dana (Scott) Campbell; grandson, Aiden Campbell; granddaughter, Anna (Kevin) Brodgen; great-grandson, Micah Brogden; sisters, Donna Lea Johnson, Sharrill Ann Smith (Mike), Debra Grace Inman; brother, David George Inman; and a countless number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
