Irmalee F. Grammer, 83, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Born in Green Bay, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Fred W. and Helen Porch Flippin, and was preceded in death by a son Russell Edwards Grammer, three sisters, Marie Fink, Florence O'Mery, Dorothy Tyrell and one brother, William Flippin. Mrs. Grammer was a member of Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, George Edwards Grammer; daughters, Connie Lee Barfell and husband, James of Blackstone, Terry Lynn Bell, and Peggy Jean Hedblom both of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Christine Hedblom, Chad Custalow, Kaitlin Hedblom, and J.C. Bell II; a sister, Louise Sorrells of Lexington, Virginia. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 in Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church, 17120 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Richard Geoghegan officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church.
