Isom “Billy” Ford, Jr., 84, of South Chesterfield, became absent from the body and departed his earthly world to be in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long battle with health issues. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Isom and Bernice Richardson Ford.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda G. Ford; son, Vernon Ford; grandson, Jonathan Ford; brother, Carlile Ford (Rose); sister, Edna Weber; and special family friend, Robin Spencer.
Billy was a retired master automotive mechanic and owner of Billy’s Automotive and Electric in Petersburg, Virginia.
When Billy and his wife, Linda, were not operating their business, they were actively involved for years in Quarter Horse Barrell Racing events across several states until Billy’s health began to fail.
Billy loved working with their horses and dogs on their small farm and playing with his tractor. He always had some type of joke or funny saying that he shared with his many loyal customers, family and friends. He was also a member of Matoaca Baptist Church.
