Jack Lambert Sr.

September 27, 1944 — September 28, 2011

Jack E. Lambert Sr. Jack E Lambert Sr. was a loving, generous, adventurous man who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Jack's exuberant personality touched the hearts and lives of the many whose path he crossed. He was a husband, father, son, grandfather, uncle, volunteer and all around funny guy. Always ready to reach out to those in need, he loved life and the people in it. Jack began his journey of life at St. James Mercy Hospital on September 27, 1944, in Hornell, NY, as the son of Leo Lambert and Alzada Scott. As a young man he entered the Army and chose this as his career. Later, he met the love of his life, Maria, whom he married in May 1975, had a son and eventually settled in Petersburg, VA. He was a character, making those around him love him while driving us all crazy with his antics. He loved his family and grandchildren, and made sure they all knew this. His family included not only the immediate but the church, neighborhood, and friends. Jack touched many lives as a volunteer in the Colonial Heights Saint Ann's Catholic Church "Our Daily Bread" food pantry and many other volunteer activities throughout his life. We were all touched by Jack and enjoyed being part of his life and having the opportunity of watching him unravel his life along earth's journey. Just as he embraced everyone, we embrace Jack in our hearts. It was a true privilege to know him and be part of his amazing life. He will forever be in our hearts and missed. We are grateful to the many friends and family who helped Jack through the areas of his life and contributed their influence in shaping his life and making him the person he became. He leaves behind his wife Maria, daughter Mary (Joseph) Wolf of Arkport, NY, son Jack (Sandy) Lambert of Orlando, FL, daughter Crystal Lambert of Petersburg, VA. His brothers, Leo Lambert, Oregon, Donald Lambert of Petersburg, VA and Christopher Rote of Petersburg, VA as well as his grandchildren, Eric and Shawn Kerr, Brian and Emily Wolf, Sydney and Brittany Lambert, and Great Grandson Carter Kerr, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his parents Leo and Alice Lambert, Alzada and Lester Scott, brother James L. Lambert and grand-daughter Kamryn L. Lambert.
