James Claiborne Bell, Jr., 76, of Prince George, formerly of Reidsville, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joan Tomlin Bell; daughter, Joanne Carole Bell Kirkland and husband, Brad; sister-in-law, June Tomlin Thompson and husband, Alan; and brother-in-law Woody Tomlin and wife, Marsha, as well as numerous extended family members. Born on October 17, 1939, he was the son of the late James C. and Sadie H. Bell and was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Edward Bell and Larry Wayne Bell. Jim was a most loving, kind, patient, devoted husband and father. He worked for the Virginia Highway Department before working with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company for 22 years and then American Tobacco Company as an Engineering Technician. Mr. Bell grew up in Matoaca and lived in Chester with his family before moving to North Carolina in 1991. He and Joan moved back to Virginia in September of 2013. He loved their new home in Prince George, which is just minutes from their daughter, Joanne and her husband, Brad. Jim could fix anything, as he was very detail oriented and sharp minded.
