James Blackwood Sr.

James Daniel Blackwood, Sr. of Colonial Heights, Virginia, died Tuesday morning, January 19, 2021. He was 89 years old and a Memory Care resident of Sunrise Villa Tuckahoe in Henrico County.  He was born in Gastonia, North Carolina where he met his wife, Margaret; they were married 63 years.  He served in the US Army and later worked for the Small Business Administration.  He enjoyed carving wooden birds, painting, drawing, fishing, working on cars, and spending time with family.  He loved to tell jokes and puns.  Surviving are:  his wife, Margaret T. Blackwood, son Dan Blackwood (wife Kristi), daughters Peggy Larson (husband Vic), Beth Keeves (husband Pete) and Charlotte Blackwood.  He had 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was beloved and will be greatly missed.
