James Ryland "Jimbo" Bradley, 65, of Prince George passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at his residence. Born on July 31, 1950, he was the son of the late James Willard and Bessie Southard Bradley, and was also preceded in death by his many beloved pets including Tank, Wolf and Baby. Jimbo was a retired employee of Del Haize America Transportation after 23 years of employment. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. After his time with the Army, he transferred to serve in the US Army Reserves. During his service, he earned several decorations, medals and awards, including the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Medal and the Expert and Sharpshooter awards. He is survived by his soulmate of 12 years, Lori Potter; sons, Jimbo Bradley and Kenneth Mark Enge; stepson, John Potter III; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Potter; 8 grandchildren; brothers, Dave and Melven Bradley; brothers of the heart, Rusty "Bullet" Clarke and Charlie Persinger; sisters, Dot Hall, Margaret Rivenbark and Katholeen Beck; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Shackelford, Debbie Burroughs and Trici Meyers; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, Taco Bell, Blackie and Patches. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia, 23805. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday night, July 15, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
