James Burket

James Gerald Burket, 70, of Petersburg, passed away on May 1, 2021. He was born August 1, 1950 to the late James Masters Burket and Geraldine Mary Richione Burket.  James attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University from which he graduated in 1972 with a BA in English. James was employed by the Petersburg Bureau of Police from 1972-1976. He also worked as a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser as well as a Real Estate Agent and Broker. James attended both St. Joseph’s Church Catholic Church, Petersburg, Virginia and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Richmond, Virginia. He was a member of the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers, SPCA, and Ducks Unlimited. James is survived by his wife, Nancy Bogese Burket; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Burket; son, James Richard Masters Burket; daughter-in-law, Gilda Pagarigan Burket; granddaughter, Eva Jameson Pagarigan Burket; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be private. Flowers are welcome or in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the James G. Burket Memorial SPCA, 104 Pickwick Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
