James Carrington

James R. Carrington, Sr., 81 of Prince George County died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Colonial Heights Health Care Center. He was a native of Petersburg and the son of the late Sarah Carrington McDowell. Mr. Carrington was a retired Prince George Police Officer and was a former Colonial Heights Police Officer. He is survived by his wife, Caroline W. Carrington, three sons and daughters in law, J. Richard and Patricia Carrington of Prince George, Thomas R. and Jean Carrington of Chester and John F. and Joanne Carrington of Chester, a daughter and son in law, Cathi L. and John Cleveland of Prince George, a sister, Beverly McDowell Branch of Petersburg, grandchildren, Mary Caroline (Keri) Ernst, Charles Thomas Carrington both of Hanover, PA., Lisa Ann Cleveland of Prince George, Robert Alexander Carrington and Sydney Renee Carrington both of Prince George and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 in the Petersburg chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Rd. Pastor Joe Elmore will officiate. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home..
