James Ray Cosgrove, 82, of Prince George, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011. He was the son of the late Harry M. and Minerva I. Householder Cosgrove and was preceded in death by brothers, Harold J. Cosgrove, Charles Cosgrove, Paul Cosgrove, and John Cosgrove; and sister, Pauline E. Pryor. Mr. Cosgrove retired as a Master Sergeant with the United States Army after twenty eight years of service and was a retired Captain with the Petersburg Sheriffs Department. He volunteered for the Prince George County Parks and Recreation as a baseball coach for many years. He is survived by his wife, Margaret F. Cosgrove; sons, James R. Cosgrove of Lewes, Delaware, Dwight Cosgrove and wife, Vickie of Colonial Heights; step-son, Lonnie Arvin and wife Sherry, grandson, Michael Cosgrove and wife, Amy of Lewes, Delaware; great- grandson, Logan R. Cosgrove of Lewes, Delaware; brother, Harry L. Cosgrove of Hagerstown, Maryland; sisters, Bessie Smith of Sabillasville, Maryland, Dottie Fishack of Smithsburg, Maryland, Mary Powell and Pearl Heffner of Hagerstown Maryland; grand nephews and niece, Allen Easter, Aaron Easter and Annette Easter of Colonial Heights. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Pastor Raleigh Nunnally and Pastor Bobby Johnson officiating. Interment Bermuda Memorial Park Enon, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home
