James Ferguson

James Olin Ferguson died on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia P. Ferguson; two sons, Keith A. Ferguson and Kevin O. Ferguson; and his parents, Mitchell and Hazel Ferguson. He is survived by his two daughters, Shari Ferguson Stevens (Ralph) of Norfolk, and Laura-Beth Louthan (Rick) of Chesterfield; six grandchildren, Jamie, Emily Beth, Molly, Ty, Annie Grace, and Remi; and great-grandchild, Harper Neal.

Olin was a graduate of Petersburg High School and an active member of POGO (Petersburg Old Geezer Organization). Olin was a proud Hokie, graduating from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in 1956. He also attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He loved all sports and was an avid supporter of his children's and grandchildren's sporting endeavors.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Ave., Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The family will receive friends at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018.
