James Gregory

James Melville Gregory, 84, of Chester, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Heritage Hall in Blackstone. Born January 10, 1934 in Finchley, Virginia, he was the son of the late Melville Y. and Lydia McGhee Gregory; and was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Annie Ree Gregory. Mr. Gregory was a member of Ivey United Methodist Church, a retired mechanic for Delta Oil Company in Petersburg, and a United States Army veteran. Mr. Gregory is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will be private. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
