James Hayes Jr.

James H. "Butch" Hayes Jr., 74, of Chester passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Chippenham Medical Center. Born in Hopewell, he was the son of the late James H. Hayes Sr. and Doris Holman Hayes. Butch is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lillian "Tootsie" Hayes; a son, Tommie Hayes of Chester; a daughter, Tammie Hayes Eldred and husband, Carl of Tallahassee, Florida; four grandchildren, Rachel Woods, Matthew & Allissa "Allie" Hayes, and Katelyn Eldred; one great-grandson, Barrett Cole Woods; and a niece, Barbara Seymour. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
