James Moore

July 3, 1935 — January 31, 2017

James L. Moore, 81, of S. Chesterfield passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Chippenham Medical Center. Born on July 3, 1935, in Highland Springs, he was the son of the late Luther Nelson and Alease Green Moore. Mr. Moore was a United States Army Veteran, and retired as a supervisor from Lee Electrical. He attended Grace Baptist Church in Dinwiddie. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Eastman Moore; three daughters, Jamie Walkup (David), Tammie Chappell (Lee), Christine Bivens (Robert); grandchildren, Taylor Walkup-Amos (Peter), Alston and Christian Walkup, Cody and Jena Chappell, Amaya King, Landyn, Cayden and Liam Bivens. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday February 4, 2017 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, 23834, with the Reverend Raleigh Nunnally officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to your favorite charity in memory of James Moore. The Family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff and special friends of Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center for their care and friendship.
