James David Morgan, 67, of Chester, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 20, 1949, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late JD and Naomi Wolfenbarger Morgan; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery D. Morgan. Mr. Morgan retired from Chesterfield County Public Schools as a Computer Technician. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Y. Morgan; daughter, Cynthia Dickens and husband, Joel, of Brazil; two grandsons, Morgan E. Dickens and Aydan J. Dickens; and two granddaughters, Daniella W. Dickens and Abigail M. Dickens all of Brazil; two sisters, Brenda S. Lovelace of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Denise F. Young and husband, Mark, of Colonial Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Grace Baptist Church, 23814 River Road, North Dinwiddie, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Raleigh Nunnally officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday, December 5, 2016, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church Missions Fund in memory of Mr. Morgan.
