James Nester Jr.

James O. Nester Jr., 80, of Prince George, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife; Mary D. Nester and his mother and father, James O. Nester Sr. and Mabel Nester Hackler. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hopewell, and attended Crowder Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, James O. Nester III and wife, Pam of Prince George; two daughters, Janet Lynn Simmons and husband, Hunter of Chesterfield, and Mary Jo Smith of Nags Head, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Amy, Braden, James, Matthew, and Téa; six great-grandsons; a sister, Theresa Nester Freeman of Williamsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Joseph Elmore officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
