James Reid Sr.

James H. "Jimmy" Reid Sr., 80, of North Dinwiddie, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at his home. He was the son of the late Felix K. and Blanche Payne Reid of Chesapeake. Mr. Reid was a retired special agent with the State Corporation Commission, Motor Carrier Enforcement. He was a proud member of the Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge #178 AF&AM and Prince George Masonic Lodge #115 AF&AM, Richmond Scottish Rite, ACCA Temple and the Virginia Police Association. Mr. Reid was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Donna V. Reid, and is survived by his three sons, James H. Reid Jr., Robert J. Reid (Frieda), Michael R. Reid; brothers, Raymond Reid and Gary Reid; sister, Shelby Cahoon; grandchildren Christin Cimburke (Joey), Jake Reid, Haleigh Reid, Matthew Reid and Will Cimburke; numerous nieces, nephews and his beloved dogs, Bruiser, Diamond and Candy. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday September 18, 2014 in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia with the Reverend Carl Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday September 17, 2014 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
