Jane Flaherty

Jane Pendleton Flaherty 81, of Richmond, formerly of Colonial Heights, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Conway Hoomes and Mary Eileen Conway Pendleton. Jane was the widow of Lt. Col. (Ret.) William Joseph Flaherty Jr. and was preceded in death by four sisters; Mary P. Hargadon, Virginia P. Tinsley, Catherine P. Parrish, Christine P. Shuart. Two brothers; Gordon Pendleton and Conway E. Pendleton. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Colonial Heights and the Colonial Heights Optimist Club. Jane is survived by her daughter Erin F. Hewitt and friend, Preston Tyson, Jr., of Chesterfield, her son William J. "Corky" Flaherty III and wife, Diane, of Midlothian, grandchildren; Kathryn E. Baystar, Kyle William Flaherty, brother in-law Gregory Shuart, two sister in-laws Mary Jane Molash, Muriel Pendleton and numerous loving nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 in St. Ann Catholic Church with Fr. Lou Ruoff as celebrant with a reception to follow. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday March 17, 2011 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
