Janet D. Carter, 58, of Dinwiddie, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 22, 2021. She was born on August 20, 1962 in Petersburg. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, James H. and Ila W. Carter of Petersburg; and several aunts and uncles. Janet is survived by a loving and caring uncle, Robert L. Carter (Barbara); an aunt; several cousins; and many longtime and devoted friends and co-workers. Janet worked for OrthoVirginia (West End) Orthopedic Clinics located in Richmond for 20 years as a receptionist, referral and estimate specialist. Janet was an avid pet lover who always took the time to try and find homes for various animals through her Facebook page. Janet loved the Lord, and her faith was very important to her. The family would like to thank Dr. Albert Magnin, Dr. Jiho Han, heart specialist, and the staff at the wound care clinic located at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Blandford Cemetery 319 S. Crater Road Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend James Thompson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made in Janet D. Carter’s name at your local SPCA. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
