Janet Mcfadden

Janet D. McFadden, 70, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at VCU Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Horace L. and Mahala Benton Dilday. Ms. McFadden was a graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University Class of 1972, and was retired from the Petersburg Public School System. She is survived by her children, Christine M. Slate and husband, William "Bill" Slate and Barry P. McFadden Jr. and wife, Jamie L. McFadden; grandchildren, Benjamin P. Butler and Benton Parker McFadden; and a great-granddaughter, Luna Jewel Butler. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at East Matoaca Cemetery, Memorial Avenue, S. Chesterfield, Virginia 23803. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VCU Massey Cancer Center, P. O. Box 980214, Richmond, Virginia 23298-0214.
