Janet Staples O’Bryant, 69, of N. Dinwiddie, VA, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Born in Virginia on November 11, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Thelma Elizabeth Staples. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Waverly O’Bryant, and her sister, Betty Aders.
Janet was a cherished member of Covenant Christian Fellowship for over 20 years, where her kindness and thoughtfulness touched countless lives through her service in the card ministry. She found joy in sending heartfelt birthday wishes, words of encouragement, and messages of comfort to friends and fellow members of the congregation.
In her earlier years, Janet delighted in the art of crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and love. More recently, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of coloring in coloring books and solving word finds.
She is survived by her brother, Lee Williams and wife, Diane; sister, Christine Silvey and husband, George; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
