Janice Sarofeen

Janice Louise Sarofeen, 67, of Moseley, entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 14, 2018. She was born to the late George and Evelyn Sarofeen on July 7, 1951 in Quincy, Massachusetts. She was a graduate of Colonial Heights High School, Class of 1969, and attended Parkway Baptist Church, Moseley. Ms. Sarofeen was a licensed optician and former owner of Eyes Rite Optical in Chester, and later retired as a tax preparer. She loved to take cruises and care for her dogs, but what her loved ones will remember most was her devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara S. Wilson of Colonial Heights. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Sanford Tomlinson (John) of Greenville, South Carolina, and Hope Sanford George (Wayne), of Moseley; grandchildren, David George, Sarah Tomlinson, and Morgan George; brothers, Robert Sarofeen (Veronique) of Chesterfield, and George Sarofeen (David Ferguson) of Cincinnati; nieces and nephew, Brian Wilson, Pam Ellis, Jennifer Landry, Yvette Hare, and Anna Denton; and best friend, Joan DeAngelis. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with Reverend Michael Moore officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home.
