Jean Bishop

Jean Rowland Bishop, 86, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021.  Born in Church Road, Virginia on May 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Laura Saunders Rowland.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Bishop.

Mrs. Bishop was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She was saved by the Grace of God on November 23, 1968.

She is survived by her children, Robert Lewis Bishop (Brenda), Ronald Wayne Bishop (Janet), Michael Ray Bishop (Kelly), and Billie Gail Moe (Scott); grandchildren, Melissa Bishop, Laura Bishop, Michelle Bishop, Glen Allgood Jr., Amanda Nash, Carol Anne Bishop, Samantha Samuels, Zac Bryant, and Taylor Bishop; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Rowland (Marion) and Horace Rowland (Vivian); sisters, Alease Holzbach (Bobby) and Anne Barlow; numerous nieces & nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Robert L. Rowland, III officiating.  Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
